    New York, NY – May 27, 2020 – The Orchard today rolled out a new feature set for its mobile app OrchardGo, now available on both iOS and Android. The additional features will enable artists and their teams to strategically release new music based on an artist’s social landscape. The app’s initial launch allowed labels distributed by The Orchard to view playlist placements in real time, view track performance data, and pinpoint markets with key fan demographics. With new, enhanced capabilities, the app now gives artists a full, comprehensive view of their social engagement footprint and market visibility compared to other artists.

    Artists can control, discover and message directly through social platforms via the app to find and engage with their biggest fans, even pinpointing fans by locations. The app monitors fan’s top interactions in algorithmic order through social posts, hashtags, follower count and geography. Additionally, OrchardGo actively monitors and alerts app users to view social media trends – indicating when and why artists are trending. This provides opportunities to engage with fans in real time.

    With social media usage at an all-time high, OrchardGo’s capabilities deliver custom and meaningful connections with fans. Teams are able to make informative decisions and strategies, making it easier to plan releases and marketing campaigns.

    The deal includes partnership of KondZilla’s YouTube Channel; one of the largest channels in the world.

    New York, NY – January 13, 2020 – The Orchard and Brazilian YouTube Star/multimedia creator/music executive Konrad Dantas today announced they have entered into a new global services partnership for his entertainment company KondZilla. Under the agreement, The Orchard will handle worldwide digital distribution for new releases from KondZilla Records, the company’s record label, and work in collaboration with KondZilla to provide video strategy, drive engagement and manage content for Canal KondZilla, its hugely popular YouTube channel boasting over 50 million subscribers.

    In addition to music distribution services, The Orchard will support KondZilla YouTube channels through creative audience development, advertising, rights management, reporting, marketing, optimization of video viewership and monetization. The partnership broadens The Orchard’s Multi-Channel Network and expands Kondzilla’s global vision and impact across platforms.

    Tokyo –  August 21, 2019  – The Orchard, the global leader in independent music distribution and artist and label services, announced today that it is expanding into Japan, the second largest music market in the world. The company is establishing new fully staffed Tokyo-based operations that will provide local support, release strategy and expertise to the Japanese independent music industry. 

    The Orchard Japan team will be led by Yuuki Kaneko, Vice President, Japan and report into The Orchard’s global headquarters in New York. Kaneko comes to The Orchard from Amazon Japan where he worked on the music team during his 11-year tenure. Previously, Kaneko also held positions at Tower Records Japan.

    The opening of a local office in Japan further enhances The Orchard’s global reach and value proposition, and extends its position as the industry’s most comprehensive worldwide solution for independent artists and labels. 

    The Orchard Japan will offer music distribution and a suite of services to Japanese labels, management companies and artists, giving them access to both local and global opportunities. It also will provide international independent repertoire, extensive digital and physical service offerings for access to the Japanese music market. 

    Creators will have direct access to The Orchard’s robust technology platform, which boasts 11 languages in addition to the local Japanese language and houses marketing, data and reporting tools to manage digital and physical assets. The Orchard team in Tokyo will provide regional expertise and language capabilities to sign and develop Japanese artists and labels, as well as build artist awareness and engagement both locally and internationally. The Orchard’s distributed artist and label base will have the ability to leverage the Tokyo office’s supply chain and network in the region, expanding reach worldwide and revenue streams in a thriving market.

    In this role, Logutenkow will be responsible for leading The Orchard’s Canada-based operations and driving Canadian market growth for both local and international labels from across its global distribution network. She also will oversee further expansion of The Orchard’s local label and artist relationships in Canada across a variety of genres through the development of innovative distribution services and solutions, and by seeking out and signing creative talent.

In her 15-year tenure, Logutenkow helped grow the label’s business from a small local operation to an international company with releases from artists such as Alexisonfire, City and Colour, Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eat World, Lucious and The Lumineers.

This expanded partnership includes global physical, digital and video distribution of Anuel AA’s 2018 release Real Hasta la Muerte as well as his next full-length album.

    After building a following from a series of popular singles and features, Anuel’s rapid ascent to superstardom came when he surprise-released his debut album Real Hasta la Muerte on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018. The record earned RIAA certified Platinum in less than two months, and topped the Billboard Top Latin Albums Chart for two weeks straight. It still remains on the chart at #6, 40 weeks after release.

    New York, NY – October 16, 2018 – The Orchard has named Tim Pithouse Global Head of Artist & Label Services effective November 1, 2018, it was announced today.

    In this role, Pithouse will be responsible for expanding the company’s Artist & Label Services capabilities around the world, and driving greater global visibility and reach for artist releases from The Orchard. Based in New York, he will establish a presence for his team in all key markets, and leverage his expertise in developing and marketing artists internationally to collaborate closely with creators, set release goals, and execute impactful sales and marketing campaigns across The Orchard’s global network.

    He will report to Brad Navin, CEO of The Orchard.

    Stated Pithouse, “I look forward to working with the many skilled executives at The Orchard around the world to build a fantastic new artist-focused division that further expands the company’s global service offerings.     Pithouse joins The Orchard from Sony Music Australia where he served as General Manager, International Marketing and Artist Development. He began with Sony Music in 2006 as a digital services account manager and over the years has held a number of roles in marketing and artist development within the company. Over his career he has played a key role in the Australian campaigns for artists including Alicia Keys, Amy Shark, Calvin Harris, Daft Punk, David Bowie, Future, George Ezra, Khalid, Mark Ronson, P!nk, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Travis Scott, Tash Sultana and many others. Prior to joining Sony Music, Pithouse held roles at EMAP Australia, Next Publishing and Granada in the UK. He completed a Masters in Arts Management from the Australian Institute of Music.

    London – July 18, 2018 – The Orchard has named Chris Manning General Manager of the company’s business in the United Kingdom and Europe. In this position, Manning will manage all day-to-day operations of The Orchard’s European efforts, working with the Managing Directors of each territory to ensure that sales and marketing operations and communications are in sync across the continent.

    Manning will report to Ian Dutt, Managing Director of The Orchard UK.

During his time working in business development, Manning formed relationships and represented The Orchard’s interests with both major and developing digital retailers. Manning also managed local and international operations, strengthening The Orchard’s global reach and playing a major role in the merger of Red Essential into The Orchard UK. Manning joined The Orchard from 7digital.
