MORE CUTTING-EDGE LABELS SIGN TO THE ORCHARD
Music For Dreams, Babygrande, Trax Records, Star 69, and Kemistree & Fizzicks Labels Select The Orchard For Digital Distribution and Marketing
New York and London – June 1 2007, Continuing to attract cutting edge and innovative labels and artists, The Orchard, the world’s leading digital distributor and marketer of independent music, today announced exclusive distribution and marketing deals with the legendary Danish DJ Kenneth Bager's genre defying Music For Dreams label; New York's home to underground hip hop, Babygrande; acclaimed U.S. dance labels Trax Records and Star 69; and Kemistree & Fizzicks, the new label formed by former So Solid Crew members, Oxide and Neutrino.

Founded by DJ Kenneth Bager, the acclaimed Copenhagen based, Music for Dreams label has pushed the boundaries of electronica since 2001. The label has placed their eclectic artist roster, which includes Bliss, Hess is More, Frontera and Bager's own recording projects on more than 500 worldwide compilations, including releases from Buddah Bar and Hotel Costes, and in a variety of film and television productions, including the American TV series "CSI". Forthcoming releases include Bager's new album "Fragments from a Space Cadet" which features guests NY singer Julee Cruise and virtuoso violinist Jean Luc Ponty, and "Captain Europe" from Hess is More.
The Babygrande signing brings to The Orchard many of underground hip hop's hottest names, including; Hi-Tek, GZA/Genius and Raekwon of Wu-Tang, Jedi Mind Tricks, 40 Cal of the Diplomats, Immortal Technique, Lord Jamar (of Brand Nubian), Canibus, Bronze Nazareth, 7L & Esoteric, Outerspace, Sharkey, Lawless Element and Think Differently along with important new signings like Sa-Ra, Norega, Amil and The Polyrhythym Addicts

Trax Records, recognized as the "home of U.S. house", celebrate their 20th anniversary with a digital compilation release of quintessential tracks featuring house legend Joey Beltram, Farley “Jacmaster” Funk, Armado, Frankie Knuckles, Fast Eddie, and Robert Armani, and release a new digital single by label owner Screamin’ Rachael featuring George Clinton.
Launched in 1999, Star 69 boasts a roster including The Pet Shop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Yoko Ono, Lula, and house diva Suzanne Palmer. Forthcoming releases include tracks from Superchumbo, Starkillers, Suzanne Palmer and label founder Peter Rauhofer's next releases in the successful "I Love" series: " I Love Montreal" and "I Love Paris".
Previously signed to East West Records, Oxide and Neutrino have produced a string of UK hits including the UK number 1 single "Bound 4 Da Reload" and the platinum album "Execute" and now release their new digital only album, "2nd Chance" on their Orchard distributed label, Kemistree & Fizzicks on June 11th.
