NEW STORES

The Orchard gets your music into every kind of digital store around the world, from major download stores to genre-specific niche sites. Just like you'd want hip specialty stores and major chain stores to stock your CDs, The Orchard is determined to sell your music through all of their digital equivalents. Here are two of the latest additions to our network - both set to launch this winter.

CHONDO - US
Chondo is a new streaming and "a la carte" download service that specializes in music from Africa and the global African diaspora. Along with Orchard-supplied stores like Download Punk [punk rock], Bollyvista [Bollywood / Indian] and Reggae Country, Chondo is part of a new wave of emerging genre-specific download stores. The Orchard will supply Chondo with hip-hop, gospel, soul, jazz, samba, blues, salsa, son, soukous, reggae, kwaito...and much more!

BREAK MY EARS - UK
Break My Ears specializes in selling metal, punk and hard rock music. Based in London, Break My Ears will cater directly to the fiercely loyal underground metal / punk scene, offering tour news and selling tour merchandise in addition to selling digital downloads. The Orchard will supply Break My Ears with thousands of metal / punk albums, including music from Cradle of Filth, Dead Kennedys, Operation Ivy, Tristania and Malevolent Creation.

NEW IN-STORE PLACEMENTS

It's a fact: promotional in-store placements boost sales. That's why our Marketing and Merchandising team works extra hard to generate creative marketing programs and get your music promoted alongside, or instead of, major label heavies. Here's a handful of our latest "big wins," just a small portion of the dozens of programs we run every week.

1) Orchard-distributed music represents roughly 80% of iTunes' new "Around the World" Chinese music promotion. Launched in October, the high-profile feature occupied prime real estate on iTunes' homepage and World Music homepage. The Orchard supplied 100% of the Jackie Chan Playlist, among other things. Read more about it here.

Last week, iTunes turned its focus to Australian music. Orchard-distributed artists - including The Waifs, Black Cab, Killing Heidi, Even and The Whitlams - were featured alongside Aussie mainstays like INXS and Kylie Minogue. Read more about it here.

2) Simply Red's new album Simplified received massive exposure on digital stores in Europe and the US, including iTunes US, Yahoo Music Unlimited, iTunes UK, iTunes Germany, HMV UK and iTunes Spain. The album also received great promotion in e-newsletters sent by Virgin Digital UK, Napster UK and Music Now.

3) MSN Music's Halloween playlist featured spooky Orchard-supplied tracks from The Tiger Lillies, Dexter Romweber and Goblin, plus music from the catalogues of Peter Pan / Inspired, Drew's Famous, Electric Lemon and many others.

4) Comedian Lewis Black's ringtones are prominently featured on over 35 mobile phone service decks, courtesy of 9 Squared's Digital Jukebox.
