An Orchard internship offers applicants a unique hands-on experience in the exciting and fast-growing field of digital music distribution. We seek full- and part-time interns willing to dedicate 15-40 hours a week to assist these departments:
STRATEGIC LICENSING: Research and compile information about potential licensing partners. Maintain contact database. Initial outreach to potential clients. Research publishing for the creative team and log track information. Provide administrative support. Help prepare sync industry events, internal creative projects. Other tasks on a daily basis.
ARTIST + LABEL RELATIONS: Working with our product managers to research and compile music catalog data. Some customer service duties. Strong Excel skills preferred. Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
WAREHOUSE: Processing new music; converting audio to digital formats; scanning artwork; picking retail orders; managing inventory.
OPERATIONS: Assisting with digital archive management of music catalog; quality control of assets and meta-data; assisting with encoding and processing of audio to various industry formats; preparing deliveries of music; assisting with special data projects. Must have knowledge of various audio formatting, encoding and compression technologies (mp3, wma, aac, etc), basic knowledge of windows file and directory structures, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with ftp and sftp protocols, and proficiency in Excel/Access a plus, but not necessary.
MARKETING: Tracking and compiling screenshots of Orchard-distributed music features on digital stores; helping to research and assemble information for newsletters that are sent to label clients and digital stores; scouring Orchard catalog for playlist themes and audio ringtone candidates. Experience with Photoshop and/or Dreamweaver a plus, but not necessary.
LEGAL: Extreme contract analysis and some drafting. Keen sense required. Must be currently enrolled in law school.
A genuine love for music, a great attitude, an open mind, an eagerness to learn and a willingness to take initiative, no matter the task. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel a must. Familiarity with digital music market a plus.
