Greg Scholl
President & CEO
Greg runs The Orchard and is also a managing director of Dimensional Associates, Inc., the private equity arm of JDS Capital Management, Inc., the company that owns The Orchard, eMusic, and eMusicLive. Previously, Greg served as an associate partner at McKinsey & Company in the Media & Entertainment group. Prior to McKinsey, Greg was managing partner of Carlin Ventures LLC, a venture capital firm focused on emerging media and technology businesses. Prior to that, he was a principal in Booz Allen & Hamilton's Media & Entertainment practice. His consulting experience encompasses strategy, technology and operations, working with senior executives in the world's top media companies, with a focus on the music industry. His investing experience encompasses media and technology businesses. Greg holds an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard College.
Richard Gottehrer
Founder & Chairman
Richard co-founded The Orchard in 1997. Richard is a legendary songwriter ("My Boyfriend's Back," "I Want Candy," "Sorrow," "Nightime"), multi-platinum producer (Blondie, The Go-Go's, The Raveonettes, Joan Armatrading) and music industry executive. His songs have been recorded by David Bowie, George Thorogood, Aaron Carter, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others. Richard co-founded Sire Records (later sold to the Time Warner Corporation) which quickly became one of the industry's leading independent record companies. Its roster included Madonna, the Talking Heads, the Ramones, the Pretenders and Depeche Mode. Drawing on his wide range of experience and broad overview of the music industry, Richard has been instrumental in developing and shaping the way music is distributed and sold throughout the world.
Jeff Nimerofsky
CFO
Jeff is a senior financial executive with 16 years of entertainment industry experience. Jeff’s diverse background offers expertise in many areas including: accounting, audit, finance, licensing and publishing, operations, royalties and systems. In his most recent position at Warner Music Group, Jeff served as Vice President - Shared Service Royalties, where he directed a national staff of professionals, ensuring worldwide contract compliance for artist, publishing and union obligations for all of Warner Music Group’s record labels. He was involved in financial planning and analysis, ensuring that financial systems adapted to the evolving demands of the digital business environment. Prior to joining Warner Music, Jeff worked at Elektra Entertainment and Sony Music in a variety of progressively responsible management roles. He started his career at Arthur Andersen. Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant and has an MBA in Finance.
Scott Cohen
Founder & VP, International
Scott co-founded The Orchard in 1997. A recognized expert in new media, Scott has spent a significant amount of time over the last several years as a prominent public speaker, having spoken at conferences across the United States and around the world including China, Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, France and many more. Scott began his career in the music business in the late '80s as an artist manager of both independent and major label artists. In addition to his responsibilities at The Orchard, Scott manages The Raveonettes (Columbia/Sony), whose new album Pretty in Black is garnering rave reviews from Rolling Stone, Spin, Q and NME and entered the Billboard Heat Seekers Chart at Number 5.
Stanley H. Schneider
Senior VP & General Counsel
Stanley is in charge of legal and business affairs for The Orchard, supervising the company's business dealings with its represented artists and record labels, as well as with the company's myriad digital accounts worldwide. Stanley is one of the nation’s leading experts in the law and business of the music industry, with 30 years experience specializing in music publishing, recorded music, internet and other new technology and intellectual property matters. Stanley spent 13 years at BMG VP first as a VP for BMG Music Publishing and then as SVP for BMG North America. Prior to BMG, he was a partner with Schonwald Schaffzin & Mullman in New York. Stanley started his career in the entertainment business as a litigator with the law firm of Linden & Deutsch, and then moved to CBS Records where he was General Attorney. He holds a BA degree, cum laude, from Brooklyn College and a JD degree from NYU Law School.
Brad Navin
VP, Global Licensing and Operations
Brad is responsible for building the Orchard's catalog. He also oversees The Orchard’s team of Product Managers. Prior to The Orchard, Brad was a senior executive at DCN, where he ran the Music and Programming group. Prior to that, Brad was the Executive Director of the New York Nightlife Association (NYNA). Brad was an artist manager with Invasion Group Management, working with such acts as Bill Laswell, God Street Wine, The Bogmen, and Sarah Lee. Brad began his career in the mailroom of the legendary William Morris Agency, quickly moving into the music department where he worked with agents booking artists in venues across the country. He subsequently joined Artists and Audience Entertainment where he was instrumental in helping to break artists such as Live, Joan Osborne, and Spacehog. Brad holds a B.A. from Loyola College in Maryland.
Steve Haase
VP, Business Development
Steve has been a partner in The Orchard from the company's inception, and he serves as the Vice President of Business Development. Steve is responsible for leading all digital music service sales relationships, global content aggregation partnerships and The Orchard's new digital video initiative. Steve started his career in the music business at Sol 3 Records, where he rose to the position of Director of Artist Development. At Sol 3 Records, Steve's primary responsibility was developing release strategies with emerging artists distributed by major labels including BMG and Warner Bros.
Ketan Shah
VP, Information Technology
Ketan Shah is in responsible for all technology and product development at The Orchard. He joined The Orchard in 2002. He holds master’s degree in Computer Science with academic honor of magna cum laude and specialization in Application Development and Management from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society of two year College.
