As QA Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and implementing scriptable functional tests to achieve high levels of test coverage for critical products and systems. Job Description
Join The Orchard’s rapidly growing film distribution department in the new role of Director, Video Sales, reporting to the head of global video distribution. The Orchard distributes a vast library of catalog and new release films and TV shows across all genres and seeks a full-time person to oversee all video sales, marketing and relationships with its digital retail partners. Partners include online EST/VOD platforms, cable/satellite operators and subscription services. Part new sales generation, part marketing and merchandising, this role will require a versatile and savvy film distribution expert who is a strong communicator, proven negotiator, creative thinker and convincing salesperson. Attention to detail, an entrepreneurial spirit and a well organized work ethic will be necessary to manage the many hats this role will require and the rapid pace of working for a quickly growing global technology company. Existing relationships with VOD platforms preferred. The Director, Video Sales will have 3 core responsibilities:

Job Description
We’re looking for a sharp online video professional to manage and promote The Orchard’s rapidly growing premium video network, primarily in North America. The position is situated within our Video Network team curating hundreds of video channels with more than 2 billion views a month. The ideal candidate has extensive experience building and managing successful YouTube channels, including developing and producing the content of the channels, coupled with the diverse knowledge of music needed to engage target audiences and perform extensive editorial curation. In addition to managing assigned channels in the network, he/she will perform an array of other optimization duties that will ultimately lead to increasing viewer engagement, channel subscribers and video viewership. Interactive Marketing: The Interactive Marketing team generates awareness and demand in the online space for The Orchard's top artists and labels. The team works directly with major online music portals and editorial outlets to secure features and promotions for some of The Orchard's most recognizable names. Working on a release-by-release basis, the team advises labels and artist representatives on social media best practices, applies fan-engagement tools, and directs overall representation of the artist and/or release across the web, with a mind toward harnessing audiences and empowering and rewarding fans. Interns will gain experience in research, analytics and social networking activity, as well as enjoy the opportunity to contribute to campaigns based on experience and quality of work. Candidates should be competent writers, avid blog readers, social media trend-watchers and responsible over-achievers.
Retail Marketing: The Retail Marketing Intern's core responsibility is to assist the North American retail marketing department in capturing, tracking and analyzing placement across key digital retail stores. These stores include both online digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon and eMusic, as well as streaming services including Spotify and Rdio. Learn how films get programmed and delivered to online destinations and help in the tracking of deliveries, feature placements and in film tagging, artwork management and more.
Licensing and Creative Services: Daily duties will include: listening to catalogue and tagging with qualitative data; researching label copy from catalogue releases; reviewing industry trade publications; drafting approval forms for music buyers and artist/label clients for various media types; and helping to research, assemble and write newsletters that are sent to music supervisors and digital store programmers. Requirements include basic knowledge of the music publishing landscape; comfort with legal language and a passion for business; strong understanding of music trends and familiarity with music across all genres; solid writing skills. Photoshop, Dreamweaver preferred but neither required.
Operations: Assisting with digital archive management of music catalogue; quality control of assets and meta-data; encoding, processing and delivery of audio to various digital retail outlets; assisting with special data projects. Candidate must have knowledge of various audio formatting, encoding and compression technologies (mp3, wma, aac, etc.), basic knowledge of Windows file and directory structures, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with ftp and SFTP protocols and proficiency in Access a plus, but not necessary.
Physical Distribution: Assist Physical Distribution, Sales & Marketing department in all phases. Maintain direct contact with retailers, focusing on indie and small chain retail: sales tracking calls in conjunction with new eleases and artist tours, updating retail database, in-store promotional mailings and displays for CDs and promo posters; coordinating promo giveaway logistics, assisting with artist in-store appearances and autograph signings as well as in-concert promotional displays. Overall intelligence, organizational skills, easy, outgoing personality, pleasant phone manner are the most important skills for the ideal candidate. Knowledge of Excel for tracking sheets a plus.
Graphic Design: The Orchard is looking for an enthusiastic graphic designer with a genuine love for music, a great attitude, and an eagerness to learn. As a graphic design intern you will assist with designs for various artist marketing campaigns, album covers and internal branding projects.
Requirements: highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; strong attention to detail; ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines; strong verbal and written communication skills.
